SUMMARY:The Science of Success
DESCRIPTION:Albert Einstein once stated that success is not a mystery\, but a simple equation: 10% inspiration\, 90% perspiration. Both are crucial for success\, but especially a mind that is inspired in a way that utilises the effort required in the most efficient manner.

SUMMARY:SACE Merit Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:The SACE Merit Ceremony Awards recognises outstanding achievement in Year 12. \nFor the last 29 years\, merits have been been awarded to students who gain an overall grade of A+ for a subject\, having demonstrated exceptional achievement. \nFrom the class of 2016\, 920 students were awarded 1232 merits. About two-thirds of recipients were girls and the majority came from high profile private schools. Not all these students had the background and opportunities that can lead to achievement. Some overcame adversity and disadvantage to achieve their goals. \nIn addition\, the 26 students with the highest overall achievement were presented with the Governor of South Australia Commendation\, by Governor Hieu Van Le. They received this award by gaining perfect scores in their five Year 12 subjects (a university entrance score of 99.5). \nHis Excellency also presented the Governor of South Australia Commendation – Aboriginal Student SACE Award to the highest overall Aboriginal achiever\, and the Governor of South Australia Commendation – Excellence in Modified SACE Award.

SUMMARY:DNA of Academic Success and High Performance
DESCRIPTION:Senior Secondary and Post Secondary students who achieve excellence and success in their learning are neither lucky nor innately blessed with superior intelligence. \nSuccessDNA’s research findings show that what students accomplish has more to do with specific beliefs\, behaviours and attitudes than with innate ability or intelligence. These predictors of success are skills which can be taught in incremental steps. \nAll students can master these skills if they are provided with the necessary tools and disposition for greater success. \nThis one hour seminar is sharp\, focused and has high impact.

SUMMARY:Qualities of all Successful Students - Year 12 and Beyond
DESCRIPTION:What is it that makes some Year 12 and first year university students successful?  Is it just luck\, innate intelligence and talent\, or is there something more. \nIn this exciting and thought provoking seminar Vicki Jarnis reveals what all successful students in Year 12 and beyond\, have in common.  Using powerful examples from her groundbreaking research as well as from other experts in the field\, Jarnis shows that unless students incrementally develop essential qualities habits and mindsets\, students’ chances of reaching the very highest levels of student success are slim.  However\, if we do cultivate these skills the potential of students is virtually unlimited.
